Meet Some of Our Members

I joined the Rods and Reels when I retired in 1990 for two reasons. First, I have always been interested and involved in fishing and, second, I was looking for a little something extra to do. the bonus has been the many good friends I've made and the social aspect has been very enjoyable.

My Wife and I joined the club in 1982, over the years we have enjoyed all of that the club has to offer... Camping, fishing, companionship an different outings. We like the tie in with the environment and the help that is always there.

I joined the Club about eight years ago. I fished out east so when I came to Victoria and heard about the Golden Rods and Reels it was very interesting for me. There are some very good fishermen in the club and they tell us about their experiences which I find very interesting. So much so that I bought a boat and have been going out catching a few once in while. We also have socials quite often which makes it very nice.

I dropped in, in 1991, after moving to Victoria from Ontario, hoping to learn about local angling. I was made welcome, and my wife and I enjoyed many club picnics and potlucks. Several members took me out for salmon, and lots of hints came my way for trout. The Club has been a great part of my life since I retired.

My Husband, Bob and I joined the Golden Rods and Reels in 1994. Club Member Pat Owen told us about the club which got us interested, then we met another club member Ray Field while fishing on the Gorge. He also talked about the Golden Rods and Reels club and talked us into joining and now enjoy many Social Activities.
